Frances McCauley peacefully passed on April 8th, 2025, surrounded by family.
Frances was born to Roy and Isabel Schmidt on April 27th, 1947, at Emanuel Hospital in Turlock. She was raised on a grain and cattle ranch at the end of East Ave. in the Barfield area. She attended Ballico Grammar School, Livingston High School, and Valley Business College. Frances worked at Farmers Insurance group for 32 years and Emanuel Hospital for 4 years. She co-founded and devoted countless hours to Barmont Neighborhood Watch. Frances married Michael McCauley on March 26th, 1988. They farmed in Montpelier, Snelling and Turlock for 26 years before selling their ranch to fulfill their dream of buying a wheat ranch in Eastern Washington in 2015 and moving to the ranch in 2018.
Frances is preceded in death by her parents Roy and Isabel Schmidt. Survived by husband Michael McCauley, sisters: Pat (Bob) Reher, Shirley Schmidt; nieces: Andrea Rosales, Teresa (Joel) Johal; and great nephew Bryan (Kenia) Rosales.
Graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park on April 17th at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Frances McCauley’s name to Modesto Community Hospice or The American Cancer Society.
