Frankie Allove Stanley

On February 4th, 2025, following a courageous battle with cancer, Frankie answered the call of the Lord and went on home. When she received the diagnosis and heard that she had no other options, Frankie told the doctors that she will “Just ride it out”.

Frankie Allove Jones Stanley (also known as “Bea”) was born on August 17th, 1927 in Ashton, Texas (now known as New Diana) to Fred and Rosana Jones, the 2nd of their 9 children. She attended school in Longview, Texas and later completed her education in Dos Palos, California.

Frankie met and married S.C. Stanley Sr in 1946 in Gregg County, Texas and they later moved to California. From this union was born 12 children.

She leaves to cherish her memory Lois Stanley-Parr, LaVerne Stanley, Frederick Stanley, Theodore Stanley, Craig Stanley, Paula Stanley and Stephen Stanley of Fresno, Rosemary Robinson (husband Al) of Corcoran, S.C., Stanley Jr. (wife Beatrice) of Clovis, and Warren Stanley of Chula Vista, California.

Known to them as Grandmama, she had 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren for whom she loved unconditionally, never judging but always fully accepting, supporting and celebrating them.

Frankie is also survived by her sisters Virgina and Faye of Texas, Ora Lee of Georgia and a host of other relatives and friends.

Frankie was preceded in death by her husband S.C. Stanley Sr. (1995), son James Vincent Stanley (2022) and daughter Phyllis Stanley-Garry (2023).

Well known for her elegant church hats, Frankie did not attend church without wearing one! (In honor of Frankie, her daughters and granddaughters are modeling part of her hat collection today.) Frankie was also talented at handmaking beautiful quilts and embroidery. Beginning to cook at the age of 11, Frankie was revered for her amazing culinary skills. She also loved to bake; especially her pound cake, sweet potato, pecan and apple pies (and homemade ice cream). During the holidays people would all line up to place their dessert orders.

Frankie was an ever-faithful servant of the Lord and a member of St. Paul CME in Fresno where she was also a Stewardess.
