Idona Rae Scholes Lambert-Thomas January 14, 1939 - August 6, 2018

Idona Rae Scholes Lambert-Thomas was born Jan. 14, 1939 in Oregon but grew up in Idaho.
She passed away Aug. 6, 2018 at the age of 79 in Modesto, Ca.

She played the violin in the high school orchestra. Her hobbies included bowling, swimming, softball and gardening. Her garden was always full of color and life and delicious fruit.

Idona was a military wife and they were stationed in Idaho, Japan, Texas, and retired in California.

She worked for the Medic Alert Foundation for more than 20 years.

She loved history and belonged to the Daughters of the American Revolution, Turlock Chapter and the Colonial Dames XVII Century. She took several historical trips with her daughter Gail.

She loved her family passionately and enjoyed going to breakfast on Saturday mornings with her son Michael. She loved to go to the movies and the Sunshine Club.

In the 1970’s she took in a foster son, Ramon, who is very grateful for the love and care she gave him.

Idona was a faithful Christian and belonged to Wellspring Anglican Church in Modesto. She passionately loved Jesus and her greatest wish is for ALL her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to love Jesus and to seek Him out.

As her Mayflower ancestress, Elizabeth Tilley Howland, wrote in her 1686 will: “I charge to all of my children that they walke in ye feare of ye Lord, and in love and peace towards each other”

Idona is predeceased by two husbands, Howard Lambert and Larry Thomas as well as her sister Mary Ann Scholes.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Michael Lambert (Anita Pryor) and Gail Ann Lambert Adams (Scott Adams), her grandchildren, Jason Lambert, Christopher Lambert, Josh Adams & Rebecca Adams. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, Aug. 17 at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway in Turlock. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00am, on Saturday, Aug. 18 at Wellspring Anglican Church, 1548 Cummins Drive in Modesto. Burial will be private.

Remembrances can be made in Idona’s honor to Wellspring Anglican Church or to your favorite charity.
