August 1966 ~ April 2019
Issa Maldonado, 52, of Turlock joined the loving arms of our Father in heaven on Tuesday, April 23, 2019. Issa was born in Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico on August 25,1966 to Aurelio Maldonado Ornelas and Lidia Ruvalcaba Reyes both of Mexico. She was an artist, photographer, chef, independent business woman, wonderful loving mother, and devoted wife. Issa was passionate about the arts and was a volunteer member of the Carnegie Arts Center in Turlock as well as the Mistlin Gallery in Modesto. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and in many of our state and national parks which served as inspiration for photography and art. Issa had a great sense of humor, she could always light up a room with her perfectly timed wit. She enjoyed her time with friends; and laughing with everyone. Prior to living in Turlock, CA, Issa resided in Millsboro, DE where she met her husband John T. Evans, Jr. (of Asheville, NC) in 2006.
Issa was preceded in death by her father and mother. She leaves behind her husband and partner of 13 years, John; son David Luna of Millsboro, DE; daughter Yarissa Luna of Wilmington, DE; sister Yaros (Manuel) Rangel; brother Eliu (Isabel) Maldonado of Redwood Valley, CA; brother Ben-Hur Maldonado of Seattle, WA; step children Ian Evans of Philadelphia, PA and Danae Evans of Rehoboth Beach, DE; nephews Emmanuel (Yaros) Rangel and Sear Rangel; as well as many close friends.
An open house celebration of Issa’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 from 4:00-6:00p.m. at Allen Event Center at 239 N Broadway, Turlock, CA. A celebration of life for Issa will be held for family and friends in the Millsboro area on June 1, 2019. Details to follow on social media.
Memorial contributions in Issa’s memory can be made to Beebe Medical Foundation of Lewes, DE or American Cancer Society.
