Jacquelyn (Jackie) was born March 15, 1958, in Torrance, CA to Arthur Thomas, III and Betty Welch. She was educated in the Los Angeles Unified School System. Jackie met Emmett Dorsette when they were teenagers. They were married on February 14, 1976. They had two daughters, Demetria (DeeDee) and Nicole.
In 1990, the Thomas / Dorsette family moved from Los Angeles to Dos Palos where they lived for several years before relocating to Los Banos. Jackie united with First Baptist Church in Los Banos. She remained an active member until her health began to decline. Jackie was loving, outgoing, friendly, and welcoming. She loved to laugh and spend time with her family and friends. She enjoyed playing Spades and Bid Whist with friends and listening to R n B oldies music.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and sister Carolyn Graves. She is survived by her husband Emmett of 48 years of Los Banos, CA, two daughters, Demetria (DeeDee) Thomas of Modesto, CA, Nicole Dorsette of Los Banos, CA, four granddaughters, Daechanelle, Tavaria, Es’sence and Tahila. Her Siblings, Hadassah Thomas of Vallejo, CA, Anthony Thomas of New Mexico, Robert Howell of Los Banos, CA, Art Thomas of Los Banos, CA Douglas Asberry of Las Vegas, NV, Klatann Thomas of Bellflower, CA and Litanyia Page of Gwynn Oak, Maryland. Many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 27, 2024, 10 am at United Methodist Church; 1031 Iowa Avenue Los Banos, CA 93635.
