James was born in Palo Alto, CA on March 13, 1947, to Darwin and Dorothy Henry. He passed on January 14, 2024, in Turlock, CA.
My husband, James Paul Henry, has passed away after a short illness and hospital stay. Anyone who knew him would say he was very compassionate in his convictions and was honest to his core.
He was my best friend and the love of my life. He loved his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids with all his heart. He never hesitated to let them know how proud he was of them.
His love for the outdoors and the mountains led him to enjoy many activities. He had so many happy places, two of these being gold panning and bass fishing. He could stay out all day just surrounding himself with nature and the solicitude it brought him. He also took great pride in making things with his hands. He made many things through woodworking and quilting, which will continue to bring me comfort and beautiful memories every day.
He spent over 30 years in school finance. Where most people would shy away from finances, he thrived. He took great pride in his work and met a lot of wonderful people along the way.
He is survived by his wife Michelle Henry, children Stephanie Henry, Mindy Jorgensen, Brandi Avalos and Rick Henry, sister Karen Parker, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
There won’t be a service, of course, because he didn’t want one. This is how he lived his life very simple and no fuss. So, per his wishes, in the spring his family will go high on a mountain top where they will spread his ashes so he may rest eternally in his “happy place”.
