James Swain August 31, 1937 - August 1, 2023

James William Swain, 85 of Turlock, made his final journey on August 1^st 2023 surrounded by his family. James was born to James Leroy and Nina Noreen Swain in Branch, Arkansas on August 31^st 1937. He was the oldest of four children, Barbra Ratterree, Melvin (AnnaVee) Swain, and C.W. (Nelda) Swain. In 1957  at the age of 19 years old, James married Georgia and went on to have four children: Rev. James and Rev. Lena Swain of Hughson, Susan and Richard Neal of Turlock, George and Veronica Swain of Turlock, and Rev. Jerry and Rev. Melissa Swain of Turlock. He was blessed with 14 grandkids and 27 great-grandkids. James “Jim” drove a truck for 50 years. He was a great support to churches and pastors for 60 years. James attended New Vision Christian Center in Modesto with his wife for over 20 years. He is preceded in death by his father James Leroy Swain and mother Nina Noreen Swain.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 11^th at 2 pm at New Vision Christian Center, 1850 East Hatch Rd, Modesto. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation be made to the James William Sanctuary at New Vision Christian Center.
