Aug. 5, 1935 – Aug. 9, 2020
Janie Johnson of Turlock, California, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the age of 85 with her family by her side. She was born on August 5, 1935 to the late Juann and Eprim Betkhouda in Tehran, Iran. She was previously married in 1958 to Paul Clayton Johnson of Arcadia, Florida.
Janie was a fiercely independent person and an extremely hard worker well into her senior years. She was an artist and displayed her talent through decorating cakes for her customers over 35 years. Janie enjoyed making them happy by creating artistically designed and delicious cakes.
Janie’s greatest accomplishment was her family whom she raised almost single handedly. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchild are truly grateful for the sacrifices she made throughout her life to ensure they succeeded in theirs.
She is survived by her son, Richard Paul Johnson, and his wife, Tracy, of Mount Crested Butte, Colorado as well as daughter, Betty Ann De Caro, and her husband, Mike, of Tracy, California. She had 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at Turlock Memorial Park on August 13th, 2020 at 2:00pm

August 13, 2020 at 6:16 pmI will never forget Janie. As my grandma, she would always be extremely kind to me. When I was younger, she would listen to my childish ramblings while smiling. She offered much comfort, then. She would cook delicious meals when my parents couldn’t. Her cooking was one of her greatest skills, in my opinion. I only wished I could have said more to her before she passed. I will always remember her as soft-spoken, polite, and wonderful Nana.
