Jeanette Marie Thompson March 16, 1952 - May 24, 2021

March 16, 1952 – May 24, 2021

On May 24, Jeanette Marie Thompson ( Brazil) passed away unexpectedly at the age of 69 while at home in Turlock, CA. Jeanette is reunited with her husband, Mr. Roger Carl Thompson, who passed in 2019, and her father, Edwin Brazil. Her memory will be treasured by her two children, Kelcie and Rick Thompson; her granddaughter, Magnolia; mother Mary Brazil Snyder; brothers Stephen, Lionel, Daniel, and Timothy Brazil and their families; and other relatives and friends too numerous to list.

Jeanette was born on March 16, 1952 in Newman, CA to the aforementioned Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Brazil. The only sister to four brothers, she grew up on a dairy farm and fondly recalled memories of milking cows before school and sewing clothing for herself and her family. She graduated in Ceres High School’s class of 1970 and attended Modesto Junior College, where she also worked her entire career until her 2011 retirement. She wed Mr. Thompson in 1975 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock, and together they raised two children and numerous beloved pets.

Jeanette was an avid gardener, an animal lover, and shared a hobby of antique collecting with her late husband. She cherished every member of her big Portuguese family and loved to research her ancestry as a way of exploring her heritage. She was smitten with her first grandchild, Magnolia, whom she only recently welcomed into the world. Her favorite place to visit was the central coast.

A funeral service will be held at 10AM on June 11 at Allen Mortuary in Turlock. She will be laid to rest at Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman.

Once you have submitted your condolence, it will be approved by our staff during office hours, then published on your loved one’s page.
