Joann faithfully dedicated her time and energy for over 25 years to working with the children of Catherine Everett Elementary. She loved seeing the kids every day and sharing in their lives as they grew.

October 9, 2021 at 8:57 amI too, am so deeply saddened by the loss of Joanne. My parents were next door neighbors of Wayne and Joanne for about 8 years, until my folks moved a few miles away. They remained friends for years beyond, until my parents passed in 2003 and 2008 respectively. My youngest daughter, during her time at Catherine Everett Elementary School, enjoyed the kindness of Joanne on the playground there. We lived in the same neighborhood too, and it was always a pleasure to see Joanne and her dog Annie walking by. She is missed so much by those of us who had the honor to have known her.

July 25, 2021 at 6:26 amI am sad to just be learning of Joann’s death almost one year later…I was her hairdresser and I loved her like a mother. I saw her every week for 35 years and when Wayne became ill I went to their house and cut his hair every month for 8 years until his death. When she had to leave her home and live at the residential care home I went every week to visit her until Covid hit. the last time I saw her was right before Covid, I took her to get a pedicure and we had lunch. Now that the restrictions were lifted I inquired about her ability to have visitors only to be told to contact her family. With a hopeful prayer I called Jack hoping she had gone to live with his family. Sadly I was informed of her death last August. I am beyond sad to say the least. Looking for her obituary just now I have realized she had a service I new nothing about. I am very saddened by that and there are no words to to express my sorrow. So farewell Joann, I loved you so much. I rejoice that you are sitting at the feet of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That you are filled with joy, the joy I have when I think of you.

September 11, 2020 at 3:46 amI worked with Joann for many years at Everett. I don’t recall there being one day when she was in a bad mood-she was always such a positive influence on both staff and students always smiling and laughing! She was a joy to work with and a blessing to know.

My Auntie Jo had a laugh that I will never forget. Her laugh makes me smile when I think of her.
I will miss our conversations about Dancing with the Stars. It was our thing.
