Josephine Rodriguez Torres was born in Turlock, California on December 14, 1955 and passed away in her first childhood home surrounded by loved ones at the age of 68 years old on March 1, 2024. Josephine R. Torres was a native and long life resident of Turlock. A member of Sacred Heart Church. She married Ignacio Mercado Torres on June 24, 1977 in Lake Tahoe. Soon after she had four children; she was an agricultural worker for 30 plus years and advocate for agricultural workers rights, education, sports, hospital environmental services at Emanuel Hospital, as well Head Administrative for a family owned small business mechanic shop all while raising a family full time. She is survived by her children, Monica Rodriguez Garcia, Ignacio Rodriguez Torres, Roberto Rodriguez Torres, and Joseph Rodriguez Torres all from Turlock; her five grandchildren and two step grandchildren with a step great-grandchild on the way soon. She is also survived by her siblings Jose Rosas and Lorenzo Lujan both from Turlock. She is preceded in death by her mother Sarah Rios Rodriguez, her father Juan Hernandez Ramirez, and her brother Albert Rodriguez Lujan.
She was a fanatic of the Raiders, Boston Red Sox, Notre Dame, and the Lakers. Josephine or as close friends and family would call her Josie will be dearly missed and always loved.
Rosary will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 6:00pm at Allen Mortuary in Turlock, California.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Turlock Memorial Park.
