Julie Carol Krohn
June 8, 1945 ~ April 13, 2025
Julie Krohn of Turlock, California, passed away at the age of 79. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
Julie was born in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, to Elton and Sara Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents who she was very fond of, and her loving sisters Laura and Mary.
She is survived by her loving husband Daryl “Ed” Krohn, son Ross Hoskins and daughter Kathy Hoskins, former son-in-law Stephen (Ali) Gemperle, Jason (Sonia) Krohn, Ryan (Jessie) Krohn, Heather (Tim) Ogden, and Adam (Lisa) Krohn. She loved spending time with her grandchildren: Markus, Sarah, Deanna, and Christopher Gemperle; Evelyn (Gage) and William Hoskins; Brennan (Savannah) and great-granddaugher Adeline, Spencer, Grant, and Megan Ogden; Zoey, Lucy, Max, Ben, and Ella Krohn.
Julie loved children and teaching them. She worked as a speech pathologist and resource specialist for over 30 years. Her students loved her compassionate and kind heart, and she continued tutoring even after formally retiring from the Turlock Unified School District. When her students would complain that they “couldn’t do it”, she would always say “add one more word to that: yet!”
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, loved meeting with her women’s Bible study group, and reading scripture. She loved spending time with her dogs over the years: Toto, Fred, Andy, Sophie, and Ti. An avid reader when indoors, and loved watching clouds and the mountains when outdoors, especially the Tetons. She requested her remains be scattered on the Big Horn Mountains in Montana.
