Kenneth Gary Mello, born on February 20, 1968, to Johnny Mello and Linda Wood, left this world recently, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. Growing up in the Keyes area, Kenneth developed a passion for hands-on work and was known for his ability to fix just about anything.
In the year 2000, Kenneth entered Cheri’s life, and together they built a foundation of love and partnership that would withstand the test of time. He was not only a life partner but also a devoted husband who stood by Cheri through thick and thin.
Kenneth’s role as a father was truly exceptional. His children, Chuck (Jenn), Lacey (Michael), and Carisa (Jacob), were his pride and joy. He dedicated himself to providing a loving and supportive home, where family values were paramount. His commitment to his role as a father extended to his grandchildren, Cheyenne, Amelia, KayCee, Morgan, and Micah, who lovingly knew him as “Pop Kenny” brought immeasurable joy to his life. He also leaves behind his siblings Jonathan Mello, Frank Mello, Josh Callaghan, and Suzanne Palimino; and his loving aunt and uncle, John and Selma Chenault.
Beyond his mechanical skills, Kenneth found solace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life. Whether it was a quiet day spent fishing by the water’s edge, enjoying a round of golf, or trying his luck at gambling, he embraced the moments that brought him joy.
Kenneth was known as the occasional “Deer whisperer,” showcasing his love for animals. His love for animals extended to every neighborhood cat, earning him the title of a “Cat Man Do”. Riding his Harley was another passion that brought him a sense of freedom and joy.
Yet, amidst his many interests, Kenneth’s greatest achievement was being the heart and soul of his family. As a loving husband, father and grandfather his unwavering support and kindness created a home filled with warmth and laughter. His legacy lives on in the cherished memories of family gatherings, shared laughter, and the profound love that bound them together.
As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Kenneth Gary Mello for the extraordinary husband, father, grandfather and friend he was—a man whose love and impact will forever resonate in the hearts of those he touched.
A Memorial service will be held for Kenneth at Allen Mortuary on Saturday, December 9, 2023 starting at 3:00pm.
