Kevin Tipton, a beloved father, papa, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Born in San Jose, California, to Herb and Barbara Tipton, Kevin later made his home in Turlock, California, where he spent most of his life until relocating to Modesto last year.
Kevin graduated from Roselawn High School in 1982 after attending majority of his Senior year at Turlock High. He began his working life early, joining McGrath’s Moving & Storage alongside his father. His passion for the open road eventually led him to a life of travel as a long-haul furniture mover and truck driver—a job he not only took pride in but found great joy through the camaraderie of fellow truckers and long hours on the CB radio.
Known for his charm and impeccable appearance, Kevin was quite the ladies’ man in his younger days. He had a magnetic personality and an easy smile, with a love for life that was contagious. Whether on a boat, a jet ski, or casting a line from the riverbank, Kevin was happiest near the water. He found peace and joy in fishing and hunting, often escaping to the river with his trusty hound dog, Bella, never far behind. She was his loyal companion, always by his side.
Kevin also had a passion for music. With a guitar in hand, he could always be found strumming a new tune, filling the air with melodies and memories. His pride in his truck was legendary—always spotless, always shining—and he was known for picking up a rag to polish not just his, but yours too, if you stood still long enough.
But above all else, Kevin was a man of deep faith. He loved the Lord with all his heart and never missed a chance to share the message of Jesus. He believed in Heaven and lived his life with that hope in his heart. He felt called to preach and did so with conviction and compassion, taking the gospel to the streets and touching countless lives with his words and testimony.
Kevin is survived by his two beloved children Jamie Vierra of Turlock, Kristopher Tipton of Turlock, Sister, Kari Burton of Oklahoma, and Curtis Tipton of Oklahoma, six cherished grandchildren, Jayden, Taylor, Maverick, Liam, Tabetha, and Kaiden who will carry his stories, strength, and spirit forward. Though he will be missed more than words can say, we take comfort knowing he is now in the presence of the Lord he loved so dearly.
Kevin is preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Barbara Tipton, his brother Keith Tipton, his maternal grandparents Glen & Lola Morris, and paternal Grandparents Clinton & Helen King.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at 5pm at Allen Mortuary, viewing Friday, April 11th 2025 at 5pm.
