Linda Sue Womack Duke November 3, 1946 - March 8, 2024

Linda Sue Womack Duke

November 3, 1946 – March 8, 2024

Linda was born to Arnel “Doc” Womack and Della Juanita Addis Womack. She was the youngest of all her siblings Wayne, William Lloyd “Dub” and James “Jim” Womack. She was very religious and enjoyed her Christian faith.  Linda met Richard Duke at work, and they were married soon after. Dad always said that Mom saved him, because he had asked the Lord to give him a reason not to reenlist in the Marine Corps and go back to Vietnam. The Lord provided, together they shared over 50 years of marriage; one son, 4 grandsons and a great grandson.

Linda was a bookkeeper by trade, she worked for multiple companies including the Delhi County Water District and Womack Striping. Her most important job was being a homemaker, which she did well. She was there for everyone, every game, every life event etc…. she loved taking care of her grandsons. “Nina” as the oldest one coined her, loved to be around and play games with them. Nina loved her grandsons.

Linda is survived by her son David/Rachel; grandsons Mario, David Alex, Elija and Niklos; her aunt Lorna Lorraine Addis Hysmith, sister-in-law Barbara, Colleen, Loretta, Janet, and Cindy; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents, brothers, sister-in-law Joanne, nieces Melanie, Holli, and nephew Justin. A grandson that the Lord took home before we got to meet.

She loved to talk, she really looked forward to the calls that came like clockwork and the texts all hours of the day and night. Her trips going to church, and time spent with her sister-in-law Barbara, who was there for her in this last chapter of her life. She was blessed to have wonderful neighbors who always kept an eye on her, helping her when she needed it and providing great friendship. She lived an incredible life and will be forever missed.
