Lula Mae Grissom of Turlock has passed away at the age of 88. She was born to Willie Debs Harris and Iva Evelyn Harris (Burkholter) in Walters, Oklahoma, and spent most of her life in California. She married Arlen Grissom and together they raised their children. Lula worked as a hair stylist for 30 years. Lula lived at Alpha Bothun Apartments for 31 years. She spent her last 2 years at North Starr Postacute Care facility.

Lula enjoyed camping and travelling with her family, gardening, and expressing herself through crafts and artwork. One of the biggest joys of her life was playing Skip Bo with her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.

Lula is survived by her children Debbie Browning (Phil), Becky Bromley (Mark), her grandchildren Rebecca Carrillo, Amey Pimentel, Colby Browning, Zachary Bromley, Mark D. Bromley, and Simon Bromley and her 8 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded by her husband Arlen, her parents Willie and Iva Harris, her sisters Mattie Cambell, Gertrude Davenport and Bessy Grissom, her brother Roy Harris, her son Harold Estes, and her infant daughter Janice Grissom.

A Funeral will be held at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, November 9th at 10am. A visitation will be the previous day on Tuesday the 8th from 5-7pm.
