Maria de Jesus was born on January 4, 1924 in Alcahuato, Michoacán to Ignacio and Regugio Montiel. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. All of her family and friends referred to her as Doña Chuy. Maria de Jesus was a strong-willed woman who had survived COVID twice as well as influenza. She is someone who has never given up on life, no matter how many times she has been challenged. A highly charismatic, caring, and humorous woman who made everyone laugh and enjoy her company.
A powerful woman who gave birth to fourteen children: Elizabeth, Margarita, Maria, Candelaria, Refugio, Jose, Francisco, Blanca Margarita, Andres, Abel, Virginia, Maria, Guadalupe and Teresa. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
We announce with sorrowful hearts that Grandma is no longer with us after ninety-nine years of life. We were very fortunate to have experienced a life with her and to have learned so much from her. She will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary in Turlock on Monday, March 27, 2023 from 4-7pm. Rosary and Mass of Christian burial will be at St. Jude Catholic Church in Ceres on Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at 9:30am followed by burial at Ceres Memorial Park.
