Socorro Lomeli “Mama Coco”

Maria Socorro Lomeli Fernandez of Ceres, California has passed away at the age of 95. She was born to Refugio Lomeli and Rosa Fernandez in Guadalajara, Jalisco in Mexico. She married Pablo Nuno Davalos and together they raised Virginia, Ana Patricia and Pablo.
Maria went by her middle name Socorro but to most she is known as Mama Coco. Mama Coco was a person who loved to garden, play Mario on her Nintendo console, and enjoyed word searches along with knitting. Mama Coco loved watching the Chivas of Guadalajara play soccer. On game days she would always yell “Arriba las Chivas!”.
Mama Coco had a deep rooted love for family that she instilled in her own family. Mama Coco is survived by her loving siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. The loss of Mama Coco is mourned by extended family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Allen Mortuary on Thursday, October 19 from 4-6pm. A Rosary will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Turlock on Thursday, October 19 starting at 7:30pm.
A Funeral mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church of Hughson on Friday, October 20 starting at 11:00am.
After the funeral mass, a graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park.
