Maria passed away early Wednesday morning due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease which she battled for the past 14 years.

She was born January 26, 1939 in a German Settlement in Liebling Romania. She moved to Austria in 1943 at the age of 5 and to the United States in 1951 at the age of 12. Her family eventually settled in Turlock in 1953. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1957 and married Jim Yettman, her husband of 60 years.

Maria worked at Moore Business Forms in Modesto prior to giving birth to her first child in 1959. Her hobbies included playing tennis, gardening, cooking, baking, entertaining friends and family at her home and traveling with her husband. However, there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her grandchildren.

Maria was preceded in death by her parents Andreas & Maria Gerold and her brother Andy Gerold.

She is survived by her husband Jim Yettman, her son Dan Yettman (Denise), her daughter Pam Lancaster (Steve), grandchildren, Chase Yettman, Krista Yettman, Ryan Lancaster, Chelsea Myers, Stephanie, Jeff and Jake Bryan and 4 great grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff that helped care for Maria over the past 2 years at both Paramount Court and North Starr Post-Acute. A special “thank you“ to Maria’s sisters in law, Connie Falkenberg and Carol Gilstrap for all their loving care and assistance the past several years.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 10, 2017 at Allen Mortuary followed with the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Turlock Memorial Park.
