Marion Zoodsma is survived by daughter Andrea Zoodsma and husband Mark Eckles of Pacific Grove, California; daughter Julia Stone and husband James Stone of Modesto, California; son Paul Zoodsma and wife Colleen Zoodsma of San Jose, California. Five grandchildren: Christian and Andrew Eckles, Andrew Stone, Kate and Jill Zoodsma. He was preceded in death by his wife Viola and oldest daughter, Sylvia Zoodsma.
After graduating from high school in South Dakota, he joined the U.S. Navy and served during World War II from November 1943 to December 1946. He attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, SD where he met Viola Gross. After graduation they married in June of 1952. That year he attended the University of Denver and received his Master of Arts Degree in 1953. He taught for ten years at the New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, New Mexico and Roswell High School. In 1963 he and his family moved to Modesto, California where he taught from 1963 to 1990 at Grace M. Davis High School. He retired in June 1990.
He will be interned with his wife at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella during a private ceremony.
