Marvel Jane Johnson went home to Heaven on April 1, 2025.
She was 94 years old. Marvel was born on October 18, 1930, to Roy and Carrie Hedstrom in Turlock CA. She attended Nurse’s Training in San Francisco, and while there met the love of her life, Allen Johnson. They were married for 69 years.
In San Francisco Marvel worked as a nurse while being an amazing homemaker, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She and Allen served the Lord with gladness at Dolores Park Covenant Church, where they were known for their gift of hospitality. She taught Sunday School and was an active member of Covenant Women. Marvel and Allen loved their cabin at Mission Springs Conference Center and spent many summers there.
Marvel is survived by her brother Raymond Hedstrom of Fresno, CA. and her sister Sandra Taylor of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA.
She is survived by her three children, Mark Johnson of Turlock, CA. Gwendolyn Yee (Larry) of San Francisco, CA. and Greta Pearson of Turlock, CA. She dearly loved her five grandchildren Erin, Ingrid, Connor, Allen, and Emma, and her four great grandchildren Annika, Malachi, Hadley, and Callan.
