Mary Theresa Marson of Hilmar, California went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 29, 2023. Mary was born in Sonora, California to Lawrence and Dolores Stone. Mary graduated from Sonora Union High School, and then attended California State University Stanislaus, where she graduated with honors.
Mary worked in banking in Turlock for many years first with Town and Country Finance and Thrift, then with County Bank. In 1990 Mary met her future husband, Duane Marson. They married in 1992 and lived on their dairy farm in Hilmar until her passing.
Mary really loved her pets, the outdoors, camping in their RV, riding the trails in their Razr UTV with their friends and sitting around the campfire at night. That’s where she got her nickname, ‘Campfire Mary’. But most of all she loved her family.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Cancer Society.
Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Monday, October 9, 2023 from 4:00-6:00 with the rosary to begin at 6:00p.m. Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at 10:00a.m. with interment to follow at Hilmar Cemetery District.
