Pedro Luna passed away surrounded by his loved ones Nov. 17, 2024. He was born in Tijuana, Mexico on September 27, 1952, to Ramon and Genoveva Luna. Pedro was raised on a ranch with his four sisters, uncles and cousins. They all loved to go to the beach, playing baseball and helping on the farm. Pedro helped his father tend to all the animals and would often accompany his grandmother to the market to sell cheese. When he was 18 he moved to Patterson, California to work alongside his father as a farm laborer. That is where he met, fell in love and married the love of his life, Janie Ramirez. Pedro and Janie lived in Patterson and raised their two daughters until 2017 when they moved to Newman. Pedro was a kind and loving husband and father and an amazing grandfather.
Pedro was genuine, providing, loving, gentle, kind, caring and had the best sense of humor and was known for making people laugh. He retired from Del Puerto Farms as a farm laborer after 50 years. He had a green thumb and loved tending his garden and growing fruits and vegetables. He could fix anything and was always helping others. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and volunteered his time with the St. Vincent DePaul Society to help those in need.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Jane Luna; daughters Sonia (Gary) Abundis of Patterson and Norma Luna of OR; three grandchildren Gary, Patience and Eyanna; and sisters Irma England of Patterson and Virginia Estrada of San Diego. He was preceded in death by his parents Ramon and Genoveva Luna and sisters Alejandra Crawford and Rosalba Luna, all of Patterson. Pedro will be missed dearly by all of his family, friends and those who crossed his path.
A visitation/rosary will be held at Allen Mortuary, 247 N. Broadway, Turlock, California on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 5-7pm with rosary starting at 6pm.
A funeral service/graveside will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 521 I Street, Patterson, California on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 10am. The graveside service will immediately follow to Hills Ferry Cemetery in Newman, California.
