Ramon (Ray) Xabier Escobar was born in Brawley, California. After graduating high school, Ray entered the United States Air Force. After his tour ended, he settled in the San Jose area. Ray was married and had three boys. Later, Ray married Bonnie Williams, and had a son. Ray also became the father to Bonnie’s two children. Ray found his career job with United Parcel Service, where he retired after 36 years. After his retirement, his sole purpose in life was taking care of his spouse, Bonnie Escobar. Ray and Bonnie were married for 56 years before her passing in 2018.
Ray is survived by his children: David Escobar of Turlock, CA, Isidro Escobar of Turlock, CA, Mark Escobar of Modesto, CA, Anthony (Tony) Escobar of Turlock, CA, Teri Burgess of Turlock, CA, and Bill Vail of Goodyear, AZ. Ray is preceded in death by his 6 brothers and sisters; only Joe Escobar is the surviving sibling. Ray has (15) grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Ray was a proud and active member of the Moose Lodge while in San Jose.
A celebration of life will be held in the future.
