Ramona “Mona” Schwan passed away Friday, July 1, 2022. Ramona grew up in Loving, New Mexico. When she was in her 20’s she moved to California. She met her husband at an ice cream shop in Oakland. Her favorite job was as a teacher’s aide in a special needs class and kindergarten class. Her hobbies were Bingo and annual trips to Lake Tahoe. Ramona was preceded in death by her husband Matt Leonard Schwan, her siblings Robert Alvarado, Rita Granado, Raquel Avitia, and Rose Hanson.
She is survived by her daughter Robin Yanez (Carlos), grandchildren Juan Carlos Yanez of Michigan, Isabelle Yanez of Kansas, Kathleen Yanez, and Victoria Yanez. She is also survived by her brother Raul Alvarado of New Mexico and sister Romy Rodriguez of New Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
A Rosary will be held on Thursday, July 14 at Allen Mortuary beginning at 6pm. A Visitation will precede the rosary beginning at 5pm.
