Randall B. Yerby, age 84, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 9, 2024. He was born on October 5, 1939, to William and Marilynn Yerby. He was a loving husband to Beverly (Anderson) Yerby since December 31, 1961.
Randall was a beloved father to his three children, Eric Yerby (Debbie Bond Yerby), Jennifer, and Tiffany Dillon (Timothy Dillon). He was a proud grandfather to Heather, Alyssa, and Riann (Paul Howell), and a loving great-grandfather to Hailee and Mackenzie. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Martin Yerby and his daughter, Jennifer Yerby.
Randall lived a full and vibrant life. His dedication to his family, church family and contributions to his community will always be remembered. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength.
Randy & Bev met when they were 21 years old and only 5 and ½ months later were married. They have been happily married for an amazing 62 years.
Randy loved and was dedicated to his work first in plumbing then in creating amazing milking dairy farms. Later, he became the owner of his own business selling biological fertilizer for orchard & vine farmers. This was his passion and loved his work and the people he worked with. The business he created thrived and he eventually sold it after 25 years of service. He retired at age 79.
Randy became a Christian when he was 14 years old. As he grew, he also grew in his love for the Lord. He was used by God in numerous ways. He was a leader in founding Turlock Christian School, as well as a founding member of the Turlock Pregnancy Center. He was passionate in being a Sunday school teacher for junior high & high school young men. He later was a prominent devotional guide to Modesto Christian Basketball players for many years. Both Randy & Bev led a Sunday school class for young married couples and have fostered amazing and long-term relationships with those members. Randy enjoyed being a part of many men’s bible study groups over the years. Randy & Bev attended church every Sunday at Calvary Chapel, Turlock and have been so happy there.
In addition to his family, Randy’s life was marked by his passions and interests. He found joy in fly fishing, duck hunting through his membership in Ducks Unlimited, and hunts for deer with friends in some of the most beautiful parts of the country.
Randy will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of his family and friends.
