Randy was born in Turlock to Luther and Lizzie Vannest and passed away at the age of 71.
He loved gold panning, playing guitar, metal detecting and racing Pinewood Derby Cars. Randy was an area commander and leader for Royal Rangers and over the years he worked with many churches. Attending church was very important to him and he attended many with the Royal Rangers.
Randy is survived by his wife Leta Vannest; children David (Jolene) Vannest, Daniel (Krista) Vannest and Nathan (Deborah) Vannest; grandchildren David (Kendra) Vannest Jr., Julie (Devon) Spaulding, Zackery Vannest, Heather Booth Vannest, Taylor Vannest and Carter Vannest. He was preceded in death by his daughter Julie LouAnn Vannest, his parents and six siblings.
Viewing will be held at Allen Mortuary on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 3:00-6:00p.m. Funeral service will also be at Allen Mortuary on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 10:00a.m. with private interment.

November 28, 2018 at 6:09 pmBro Randy was a special man. I especially enjoyed visiting with him and sharing our love for music together. He was gentle in his speech and his love for God, family and friends was so evident in his lifestyle. He will be missed. My prayers are with his family.
