Rosalie Marie Maroevich August 7, 1937 - January 24, 2024

Date of Service

February 9, 2024

Rosalie Marie Maroevich, 86, passed away January 24, 2024, surrounded by family at her home in Modesto, California.
Rosalie was born on August 7, 1937, to Secondo and Mary Massetti and was raised on a ranch and vineyard in Madera, California. The oldest of ten children, she is survived by five loving brothers, four beautiful sisters, her two sons, Roy and Joseph, her daughters-in-love, Tracey (Roy) and Lisa (Joe), and her grandchildren who gave her immeasurable joy – Alana, Gia, Etta, and Rocco.
Rosalie married John Maroevich in the Fall of 1971. She began to build a life and family, together with her husband and two children and moved to Modesto shortly thereafter. Rosalie was an exemplary mother and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, faith in the Lord, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her entire family and countless others.
She worked at several companies, in different industries including banking, public services and retired as a dedicated part of the team at Sciabica Olive Oil. Rosalie was a devout Catholic and carried out the divine messages through many years of service. Rosalie, along with her husband John, teamed up to support countless years teaching Confirmation classes and Bible studies both at their parish (St. Joseph’s) and in their home. She would often quote the importance of having a personal relationship with God and Jesus. Rosalie was kindhearted, vibrant, and radiated light. She was engaging to friends and strangers with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. She had immense passion for her family, her personal relationship with God and Jesus, music, food, and sports. Rosalie loved to sit quietly with her bible and was adventurous, traveling often to be with her kids and grandkids to celebrate life.
Rosalie lived a long and healthy life, she showed great strength after her husband died, living out the next 11 years deeply connected to loved ones but under her own care. Her departure comes as a surprise to us all. Rosalie passed very quickly and peacefully, the way she would have asked God to take her. Nevertheless, missing her will be felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply in her community. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that you contribute by sharing with them memories and pictures of our beloved Rosalie.
