Russell Kenneth Cox Jr. September 22, 1963 - April 13, 2024

Date of Service

April 23, 2024

Russell Kenneth Cox Jr., lovingly known as Bud, was born on September 22, 1963 in Modesto, California. He passed away on April 13, 2024, in Turlock, California. Bud was the beloved son of Russell Kenneth Cox Sr. and Ona Mae Smith and a cherished brother to Dorsena Tipton, Regina Alsip, Randy Shelton, and Carolyn Boston.

He’s preceded in death by his father and mother as well as his sister Dorsena.

Bud’s legacy lives on through his children: Tracey Aue, Ashley Cox, Melissa Cox, Martha Cox, Russell (Bud) Cox III, Carlotta Welch, and Kris Tipton; as well as his grandchildren: Summer Hudson, Dominic Zaragoza, Anthony Hudson, Kaylee Jackson, Jacob Swick, Blake Graves, Aubrey Zaragoza, Carson Aue, Riley Beardsworth, Ava Aue, Oliver Beardsworth, Zariyah Welch and Tabetha Tipton.
He was also a loving uncle and great uncle to Michael Tipton, Amber Tipton, and their children.

Bud was the middle sibling of five. He was a practical joker and he loved to make people laugh. One prominent memory all of us kids share is him drawing a face on his hand and lip-syncing Britney Spears “Oops I did It Again”. Some of his favorite pastimes included riding Harleys, or literally anything with a motor on it, fishing, going to the Chicken Ranch and working on cars. He was the mechanic of the family! He was a lover, though as everyone always said – he had his own way of showing it. I wouldn’t say he was a man of many friends, but the ones that he did have were lifelong. After his loving sister and best friend Dorsena Tipton passed away, we knew it wouldn’t be long before he followed from a broken heart. He will be missed and was loved by so many. Rest in Peace.
