Salvador Garcia passed away on December 21, 2021 at the age of 71 in Modesto, California. He battled with Parkinson’s for over 15 years until Covid took him from us. Despite the challenges he faced during that tenure, he remained positive and resolute.
As a child, Sal was amazingly talented in the arts; he danced tap as kid and was invited to sing at Carnegie Hall when he was in high school. Sal was also very talented academically, whereby he amassed a Bachelor’s degree, and two Master’s degrees. This led him to a very successful career as a supervising Social Worker and Chief Mediator for the Department of Children and Family Services for over a 30-year tenure. Service to others was his mantra.
Sal met the love of his life, Lourdes, while dancing salsa. They loved each other feverously until she passed in July of 2017. They had one child together, Alexis, and 2 each from their prior relationships: Denise, Adrienne, Aaron, and Michael. Sal ensured that everyone was academically enriched and played sports. Two of his children played collegiate sports (Alexis and Aaron), and three attained Master’s degrees (Adrienne, Aaron, and Alexis). His memory is survived by all his kids and grandkids.
Sal will be honored at Desert View Funeral Home in Hesperia, CA on November 26, 2021 from 11am-12pm.
