July 28, 1942 – August 5, 2022

Samuel Louis passed away peacefully in the presence of his family Friday, August 5, 2022. Sam was a long-time employee at TID, and farmer in Hilmar. He was a part of the Masonic Lodge, a Shriner, and a charter member of the Hilmar, Irwin, Stevinson Lion’s Club. Sam loved watching the 49ers. He loved the camping in the outdoors. Most of all he was an avid fan of the Hilmar Yellow Jackets. He loved watching his granddaughters participate in sports.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents Vern and Hazel Pierce. He is also preceded in death by his brother Rodney Pierce and sister Carolyn Virgo.

Sam is survived by his wife Lynn Pierce, his children Mark Pierce (Mary) and Stephanie Souza (Lyrad), his sister Colleen Mode, and his granddaughters, Marissa (Michael) Lopes, Riley Souza, Madison Pierce, Kayley Souza, Makenna Pierce, and Alicia Souza. He is also survived by his great grandson Nathaniel Lopes, by several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog Max.  Sam was a husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, he will be missed.

A memorial service will be held at Hilmar Covenant Church on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers please send contributions in his memory to Hilmar High School Athletics 7807 Lander Ave. Hilmar, Ca 95324.
