Sharon Maudene Barton, born on September 13, 1942, in Salinas, California, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sharon married the love of her life, James Barton, on March 8, 1958. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, faith, and family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always putting her loved ones first. She is survived by her children, Jimmy Barton (Kim), Charlie Barton (Lynn), and Michele Barton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Barton, her son Mark Barton (Krista), and her siblings Joyce O’Daniel and Lee Simmons. She leaves behind her brother, Bob Simmons (Jeanne), along with 14 cherished grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Sharon had a deep love for her faith and was well known in many different churches. She found joy in attending church gatherings and potlucks, where she formed lifelong friendships and shared her generous spirit. She loved simple pleasures, such as playing bingo, thrift store shopping, and card games with family. A talented baker, she crafted many wedding cakes that brought happiness to those celebrating their special days.
Sharon had a love for the outdoors and treasured the time spent camping, hunting, and snow skiing with her family. She was always up for an adventure and made countless memories in nature with those she held dear.
Her kindness, faith, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered. A celebration of her life will be held at Apostolic Full Gospel Church, 1515 Santa Ana Road, Hollister CA 95023 where family and friends can gather to honor and cherish the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.
Services will be March 15th at 11am and potluck reception immediately following.
