April 9, 1943 – August 12, 2021
Sherry Gustafson, 78, of Denair was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished as a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed peacefully and has gone to be with the Lord on August 12, 2021.
She was born to the late parents, Bud and Odell Whatley on April 9, 1943 in Napa, California. After graduating from Patterson High School, Sherry went on to Adrian’s Beauty College and was top in her class. She then married the love of her life, Edward Gustafson, December 13, 1962. Together they had 3 amazing daughters, Kelly, Rebecca (Becky), and Jennifer. Also came 7 grandchildren, Steve, Patrick, Ray, Rachel, Jenell, and Lauren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Sherry is preceded in death by her first-born grandson, Ryan Nelle and husband Edward Gustafson.
Sherry devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members. She was such a proud mother to her 3 daughters, raising them and taking them to church every Sunday. She appreciated the simple things in life. She was able to work from home doing hair and babysitting to raise her girls.
She loved spending time in the kitchen and cooking for her family. We always looked forward to her story telling, they were the best ever. The grandchildren would always say, “tell me a story Grandma.” She always told us to keep them going in the family for generations to come. She was so proud of her roots and family was everything. She was the best listener and loved with all of her heart.
Today as we say our goodbyes it won’t be the last because you are the greatest love of all and forever in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held at Allen Mortuary on August 24, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.

August 19, 2021 at 7:19 pmI met Sherry and Edward in my hometown of Richmond, CA. We met at the Baptist church, we sang in the choir, I taught her daughter in Sunday School. We attended Bethel Temple and Ceres Christian Center together. Sherry was one of the sweetest kindest person I know. Sherry is in the arms of Jesus and with her Edward now. I pray for peace and strength for her daughters. I will miss Sherry very much!❤️
