Soraya Jau Parga, 50, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Doctor’s Medical Center in Modesto, CA with her family by her side.
Soraya was born March 31, 1972 in Turlock, CA to Jose and Luzmila Jau. Soraya is survived by her four children Keandra, Kyara, Xzaivyn, and Xzaiphyr; her father Jose Jau, and brother Jose Jau II.
Soraya was a Health Service Specialist at Planned Parenthood Mar Monte in Merced, CA for 17 years. She dedicated her life’s work to educate her community in health services and education. She was also an advocate for young adults and their rights to get medical education, health, and help. Her impact in the field was not only appreciated but admired by her peers, patients, and coworkers.
Soraya had a passion for not only her career but those with whom she did it alongside. Our hearts go out to the Planned Parenthood family who we know will miss her very much.
In her free time, she enjoyed laughing with loved ones, watching countless TV shows, Hallmark movies, and spending time at home with her father and children. Some of her fondest memories were traveling internationally with her family to Spain, Dominican Republic, Colombia and Mexico. She also enjoyed preparing Thanksgiving dinner with her children and welcomed her children’s friends to enjoy this special day.
Family and friends are invited to attend a public viewing on Saturday Oct. 22, from 3-5pm with Rosary to begin at 3 p.m. at Allen Mortuary in Turlock. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Turlock.
