Vickie Sousa November 11, 1956 - May 7, 2024

Vickie Anne Runner Sousa, 67, of Turlock, CA, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and godmother went peacefully to be with Jesus and her father, Theodore (Ted) Runner, on May 7th, 2024.

Vickie was born on November 11th, 1956, in Turlock, California to Ted and Shirley Runner. She graduated from Turlock High School in 1974 and graduated from CSU Stanislaus College and Chapman University for her teaching credentials. Vickie worked for the Turlock School District and Hughson School District, as well as a few other districts where she was passionate about teaching our youth primarily as a Special Education teacher. She truly loved all her students and was loved back by them. Outside of being a teacher, Vickie loved to hit the casinos with family and friends, playing Bingo, going to the mountains and ocean, and spending time with her family. She will be well remembered for being a devoted mother to her daughter Shelley, her love for her pets, her smart witted personality, and her love of Scooby Doo.

Vickie is survived by her mother Shirley Runner, daughter Shelley Sousa Barr (Rick Barr, son-in-law), sister Terri Runner Periera (Joe Periera, brother-in-law), and nephew Tony Pereira. She is preceded in death by her father Theodore (Ted) Runner.

There will be a viewing Friday May 17th at Allen Mortuary from 4-7 pm. Memorial service will be Saturday May 18th, 2024, at 11am at First Christian Church in Turlock, CA which will be followed by a Reception.
